The Known World
That which lies beyond the great grasslands is lost beyond memory, if it were ever known. To the north beyond Dark Soul there is little light and far less heat. Far to the south the Southern Barrier prevents the parched air of the Waste from consuming all life. The Darkling Swamps are considered by most to be impassable, and in truth, little is known of them. Thus it was that man set to task in the Eastern Ocean, thus it was that we found another land. The Anitre have proven to be only slightly more tolerant of outsiders than the inhabitants of the great Dragon Valley, which is to say, not at all.
Garland
Garland isn't counted among the largest of cities, nor the wealthiest. It is a quiet town nestled away between the Elven Forests and the Woods of Tyro. Despite its lack of economic and military importance it draws pilgrims from all walks of life. The Temple at Garland is one of the few reminders that life was once better than it has become.
